Flukmarm is a Boss in Hollow Knight. Bosses are special Enemies that feature their own arena, a large amount of health, and a variety of unique moves and abilities. You will need to perform multiple attacks such as using The Nail and Nail Arts along with the Spells and Abilities in order to defeat them. Some bosses are capable of entering into a state of stagger after landing a number of attacks on them.
As soon as you encounter a boss, its name will appear on the screen, the music will change into a boss battle theme, and usually, paths connecting the arena will close or will be blocked leaving you no choice but to face these devastating and unique foes.
An insatiable breeder. Has populated the Waterways with its kind. Its insides double as a nest for young Flukefeys.
The desire to breed, to leave behind a memory of ourselves in the shape of a child... it seems to be etched deep into the heart of every living creature. I too have felt the pull of that base instinct.
The Flukemarm is an optional boss fight and she can be found in the Royal Waterways hanging in the middle of the arena. You will find her to be sleeping and is just passive as you work your way around the arena, however, the battle will start and she will become hostile once you strike her with The Nail.
The Flukemarm will remain in place and has only one attack, and that is to spawn Flukefeys that will chase and attack you once they come out. Keep in mind that she always spawns two Flukefeys, continuously spawns every 3-4 seconds and can spit out up to 6 Flukefeys in the arena.
For the basic combat, it is recommended to get rid of the Flukefeys first and to get on top of the Flukemarm, simply jump on top of her and perform a downward strike for a few times before jumping back onto a platform. And finally, make sure you do not fall into the water since you will not be able to attack and you will be open for the Flukefeys to corner you and most likely damage you.
Charms: Since this is an optional boss, you can try to obtain the following recommended charms first that can help you win this battle. Thorns of Agony, this defensive charm can help you get rid of the Flukefeys easily by instantly inflicting damage after taking a hit. Grubsong, since you will frequently take damage, having this charm equipped will help you recover SOUL immediately in order to be consistent with using your spells. Speaking of Spells, Quick Focus is a must since you will need a much quicker rate of recovering your health.
Spells and Abilities: Spells can also be used such as Vengeful Spirit will also work as you can inflict damage from a distance. Just keep in mind to have the Shaman Stone and Spell Twister charms equipped in order to increase the overall effects of your spells.
One last thing to remember is to make sure you upgrade The Nail by speaking to the Nailsmith to increase the damage dealt by The Knight's primary weapon.
